Run your fingers along the bottom edge and you’ll find either a T-shaped channel cut into the rubber (T-end), a round bead that presses into a grooved aluminum track (bead-end), or a U-shaped strip that slides over a lip.

The compatibility gotcha is the bead diameter. Most Van Nuys homes built between 1995 and 2020 have doors with a 0.18-inch bead. Some commercial-style doors use 0.25-inch.
