Meet the Van Nuys Team Behind Servo Garage Doors Van Nuys
The crew rolling out of our Van Nuys shop every morning is the reason the phone rings with referrals from Reseda, Lake Balboa, and Sherman Oaks. We’re a small team of four, each of us with a different specialty, but we share the same habit: say what we found, write the price down, and do the work like our name’s on the truck. Because it is. Marcus Deller opened this shop in 2015 with one rule, and every person we’ve hired since has agreed to work under it. No surprises. Written price before any work starts. Documented photo record when we leave. That’s it.
Our People
Marcus Deller, Owner and Lead Technician
Marcus has been turning torsion springs and swapping logic boards in the San Fernando Valley since 2015, which means he’s seen pretty much every way a garage door can fail. Some of those failures made sense. A few were held together by optimism and zip ties. He’s the one who wrote the original rule that became The Haven Standard: the customer sees the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement. That’s Clause 1, and it’s the reason every job here starts with a written scope and a flat price. When he’s not under a door, he’s usually walking the shop floor checking torque specs or arguing about which taco truck on Sepulveda has the best al pastor. It’s the one argument he hasn’t lost.
Daniel R., Service Coordinator
Daniel answers the phone, and he answers it fast. Day shift, night shift, holiday, whatever. If you call about a jammed door at 2 a.m. in Panorama City, Daniel is the one who picks up, names a technician, and sends the on-the-way text while the tech is still pulling out of the lot. He’s been dispatching repair crews in Los Angeles County for over a decade and keeps a mental map of every traffic pattern between Van Nuys and North Hollywood. His specialty is listening: he’ll ask the right questions about the noise your opener is making so the tech that shows up already has a good idea what he’s dealing with. Off the clock, he restores old radios and refuses to let anyone touch the dials.
Tony M., Senior Installer
Tony installs new doors and openers, and he’s the guy we send when a customer wants a Clopay or Amarr door measured, ordered, and hung without a single wobble on the tracks. Fifteen years of experience, most of them working on the big box brands you see on a thousand Van Nuys garage entrances: LiftMaster, Genie, Craftsman, Wayne Dalton. He’s got an eye for level that borders on annoying, and we mean that as a compliment. If the concrete pad has a slope, Tony finds it before the rails go up. He lives in the Valley, coaches his daughter’s soccer team in Encino, and will absolutely notice if your previous installer used drywall screws on the hinges.
Kevin P., Apprentice Technician
Kevin’s been with us for two years, and he’s earning his stripes the old way: watching, carrying, and asking questions that make the senior techs check their own answers. He started out doing spring replacements under supervision and now handles opener diagnostic work on his own, carefully, with a camera in his pocket for the photo record every visit requires. He’s studying for his state licensing exam and keeps a notebook in the truck that’s fuller than most service manuals. The kid grew up near Fulton Avenue and knows the neighborhood well enough that he can tell you which alleys have enough clearance for the truck and which ones don’t. We’re glad he’s on our side of the wrench.
One Standard, Every Job

Ten home-service brands operate under The Haven Standard, but the standard only works if the people in the truck actually follow it. That’s why we hire slowly and document everything. Every technician, from Marcus on down to Kevin, works the same checklist: written price and written scope before any work begins, per Clause 1. A photo record of what we found and what we fixed, per Clause 4. And a 365-Day Done Right Promise that means if it’s not right, we come back and make it right. The license and insurance are ours. The documentation system comes from The Haven Standard. The four of us in Van Nuys are the ones who show up and do the work.
